Working With Parents in Sport is proud to announce a new partnership with England Athletics, bringing performance parenting education to families on the 2026–28 Youth Talent Programme.
Months of planning behind the scenes came to life this weekend as WWPIS officially launched its partnership with England Athletics, delivering live sessions to parents at two of the country’s leading sporting venues: Loughborough University and the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
Parents took a deep dive into the key themes of our Introduction to Sports Performance Parenting session, exploring how they can best support their young athletes through the highs, the lows and everything in between. Every parent left with their own copy of a customised edition of Sports Performance Parenting 2.0, created to sit alongside the sessions we’ll be delivering throughout the programme.

And this is just the beginning.
Later this season, parents of athletes on the 2026–28 Youth Talent Programme will join webinars led by Gordon MacLelland and Sarah Murray, before moving on to a brand-new series of sessions in the second year of their programme.
WWPIS CEO Gordon MacLelland said:
“This is such an exciting partnership for us. We have huge respect for the work of England Athletics, and to now be part of their programme at such a critical stage in a young athlete’s journey means a lot to us. We are looking forward to growing, learning from parents and evolving this programme together.”
Alan Richardson, Head of Talent Programmes at England Athletics, said:
“ England Athletics are delighted to partner with WWPIS as a market leader in supporting parents and guardians through the sporting journey. We have been committed to supporting parent education through the YTP for a number of years and to have this additional partnership in place we believe we have a fantastic offer of support for parents of athletes travelling through the pathway. “
