Undoubtedly as a parent the ability to say the right thing at the right time is a valuable skill and is not always easy. There are numerous opportunities in a week to talk to our children about their sporting experiences whether we are at home, in the car or sat around the dinner table.
The type of question we ask is crucial in our child’s development and is vital in getting our children to take ownership of their sporting journeys. The following infographic looks at the type of question that we may ask as well as giving us all some ideas for questions that we can use practically over the coming weeks and months.
This is not a definitive list and asking great questions is all about practice and seeing what works best for you and your child, as well as working out the best time to ask them. Many parents and children are different, so try these, see what works and use them as a starting point to creating your own amazing list.
