Working with Parents in Sport (WWPIS) can today announce a new partnership with the New York Red Bulls, bringing structured parent support to families across the club’s academy.
The partnership follows a visit last month to the Red Bulls’ new training facility in New Jersey, where WWPIS ran a series of sessions with academy parents across all age groups.

Alongside the live sessions, academy parents now have access to a customised WWPIS/New York Red Bulls digital platform, offering unlimited access to more than 500 pieces of content designed to help them support their children’s development, on and off the field. Club staff have also been equipped with a dedicated social media pack to help share and distribute this content across the academy’s channels.

“This is yet another exciting partnership with a world-leading brand,” said Gordon MacLelland, CEO of WWPIS. “It’s been a real privilege spending time at the new facility and meeting staff, parents and players. This is just the start, and we’re looking forward to working with the club to further enhance the provision in this space.”
“This is something we’ve been looking to drive here at the academy, providing more parent workshops and supporting our parents along the academy journey,” said Chase Hill, Senior Player Care Manager. “Often parents just want reassurance that they’re supporting their child in the right way to aid performance and development. What’s been great about WWPIS visiting is it’s got parents talking about some of the challenges and shared experiences they face as an academy parent. If they can add a few tools to the toolbox from WWPIS, everyone benefits. The biggest takeaway for parents has been a greater awareness of how and when to have some of those difficult conversations.”

“The parent engagement piece is really important for us. When all stakeholders join the dots up, that’s where we see boys thrive in their development,” added Paul Nash, Youth Development Phase Lead. “WWPIS reinforces our messages to parents and having that alignment from a neutral voice is key.”
The partnership marks the latest step in WWPIS’s continued work with elite academy programmes around the world, bringing structured education and ongoing digital support directly to the parents shaping the next generation of athletes at one of MLS’s leading academies.
