We are excited to announce a new partnership with Coach Core. We will be delivering a series of workshops and webinars to coaches and organisations on ‘Parental Engagement’ and we feel privileged to be working with such an outstanding charity.
Coach Core is an employment and education charity that uses a community sports apprenticeship to target young adults not in employment, education or training (NEET) and have them not only change their own future pathways but also become a positive influence in communities that need sports provision most.
It is an area of coach education that is often neglected and how we build relationships with the parents of the people we coach is an essential ingredient. to creating the best possible sporting experiences for young people. It can be a particularly challenging area for younger inexperienced coaches.
CEO WWPIS Gordon MacLelland said, ‘We are delighted to be providing our support for the next generation of coaches and hope that it will help them have a major impact in the communities they are all working in.’
CEO Coach Core Gary Laybourne said, ‘After building a strong relationship with WWPIS over the years, we are delighted to formalise this partnership to bring this vital element of coach education to all our apprentices moving forwards. It is critical these new and young coaches understand the importance of planning, communicating and working effectively and professionally with parents and we look forward to rolling out these workshops to our teams in the near future.’
