The mission statement here at WWPIS is to support organisations, parents and coaches in working together to provide children with the best possible sporting experiences and we are delighted to announce a new strategic partnership with Spond.
Spond is an organisation who align with many of the values that we champion here at WWPIS and we are delighted to be working in partnership to help improve the administration and relationships between sporting organisations, coaches and parents.
Fostering positive relationships with parents and staying on top of logistics can often be a time-consuming task for coaches, many of whom took on the role to do the coaching itself and not become bogged down with admin and the Spond app certainly helps in making this a far more efficient and streamlined process.
Many parents who have multiple children involved in a myriad of different sporting commitments can also find organising logistics such as getting equipment ready, washing kit, organising transport and ensuring they do not double book or even forget things have also benefited from the use of Spond.
The Spond app, which is completely free to use, provides a centralised, simple-to-use system and mobile app that typically saves grassroots coaches over two hours in admin time every week.
It’s safe environment also means organisers comply with data protection regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Using Spond, coaches can invite members to practice, games and other team activities, and it’s easy to keep track of who is coming and who isn’t.
In the case of children, guardians can reply on behalf of their child, though if a child does say they’re attending a game then a guardian gets an instant notification to check it.
You can share information, files and photos, chat in group conversations or over private messages, and use the platform across its mobile apps or in a web browser.
Spond can also be used to help improve the financials of a team. It makes it easier to collect subs, so a coach knows who has paid to play and who hasn’t yet, to ensure the team remains funded.
Gordon MacLelland, CEO and founder of WWPIS said: ‘We are delighted to be working alongside Spond. Any service provided in the sports industry that is cost effective and has helping people at the heart of its business is something that we are extremely passionate about and this new partnership is a reflection of that.’
CEO Spond Trine Falnes said: ‘The Spond app exists to alleviate all pain points and challenges related to coaching. Coaches using Spond report saving hours on admin every week and that Spond enables them to more efficiently manage parent and member communication, freeing up time for the sport they love. As we finally return to sport and activity, we are thrilled to partner with Working With Parents in Sport, who share our passion for boosting outcomes for grassroots sport.’
Both parties are looking forward to rolling out some new initiatives both individually and collectively over the coming 12 months.
