One of the strategies we use here at ‘Working with parents in sport’ when speaking with organisations and parents is that we ask the children a number of questions about their sporting experience. Their voice has a far greater impact with their own parents than being preached at by other adults and so we use this to help parents understand what the children want from them when it comes to their involvement in sporting events.
Jens Omli is assistant professor of sport psychology and coaching at Texas Tech University, a consultant with Jengo Sports, and President of ISC Outreach and he has put together this small video using children’s feedback to deliver their message.
